Celebrating Young Voices
In a spectacular showcase of creativity, The Michael’s Daughter Foundation hosted the “Our Stories” Screening at The Miracle Theater on December 10th, 2023. With over 250 attendees, the event transformed into a magical celebration of the students’ artistic achievements and storytelling prowess.
The red carpet rolled out for the young filmmakers from GALS and Carson STEAM High School, providing them with a glamorous entrance and an opportunity to bask in the limelight. Their eyes sparkled with excitement as they walked the red carpet, bringing a touch of Hollywood glamour to this special evening.
The Miracle Theater’s grand screen was illuminated with the cinematic visions of 53 students, as their short storyboard/animated films came to life. The audience was treated to a captivating display of storytelling, each film a testament to the dedication and creativity of these aspiring filmmakers.
Councilman Jim Dear, in collaboration with Las Palmas restaurant, generously provided a delectable spread, enhancing the festive atmosphere. The aroma of good food filled the air, creating a warm and inviting ambiance for all attendees.
A heartwarming highlight of the evening was the distribution of certificates of recognition. Councilman Jim Dear, along with Andres Sandoval from Councilwoman Imelda Padilla’s office, took the stage to honor the students for their outstanding contributions. Each certificate represented not just acknowledgment but a celebration of the young voices that had shared their stories with the world.
This was more than just a screening; it was a beautiful family event that brought the community together to celebrate the power of storytelling, creativity, and the potential inherent in every young mind.
