Emma Soltero
Program Assistant

Emma Soltero is an actress, acting coach, and proud Chicana. Emma received her bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts with a Business Management Minor in 2022 from California State University, Dominguez Hills. During this time, she received an award for Distinguished Achievement in Performance from the Kennedy Center American College along with being an Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship semi-finalist. Previously, she studied 4 years under Billy Gallo at the Manhattan Actor Studio.

Emma has performed in over 8 theatrical productions and short films. She recently performed as Juliet in R&J, a Latinx and queer adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. She has performed in theatrical comedies such as Fuddy Meers and The Motherf*cker with the Hat. In dramatic roles, she played Victoria Marquez-Bernstein, Lolita Corazon, and Valentina in the play Confessions of Women from East LA by Josefina Lopez.

As a Chicana from a low-income community, she found theatre as a source to find joy as well as herself amongst the struggles life threw at her. She wants to see more BIPOC students having opportunities within the arts to find that same joy. Their stories are on stage, on screen, and everywhere they go. We deserve that voice and visibility.
