Our Scholarships and Emergency Funds Program

In addition to providing free and low-cost arts-education workshops and classes to families of incarcerated loved ones, The Michael’s Daughter Foundation is committed to providing college scholarships and emergency funds to those in need. We want to help send youth to college and provide funds for essential items and services such as food, clothing, bill payment, etc. Take a look at what we offer and find out how to apply below.

About the Michael’s Daughter Scholarship

Our Michael’s Daughter Scholarship is rewarded on an annual basis. We provide up to $5000.00 in scholarhip fund for students seeking higher education. The award amount varies.

Additional Information
In order to qualify you must:
  • Be a high school student seeking higher education at a University, College or Community College instution.
  • Have an incarcerated loved one.
  • Complete the application and provide all requested material.
  • Submit a essay detailed in the application.

Emergency Funds

Our Emergency Funds Program

We know all to well the financial challenges with having a loved one behind bars and/or struggling with substance addiction. The Michael’s Daughter Foundation wants to help provide funds for families who need financial help. The Michael’s Daughter Foundation provides emegerncy funds on an ongoing basis. We provide one-time financial assistance for the following:
  • Electric, Water, and Internet Bills
  • Rent/Mortage Payments
  • Food/Groceries
  • Auto/Car payments
  • Insurance
  • School Supplies
  • Clothing
We provide up to $5000.00 in annual funds for applications seeking help. Award amount varies and may, at times, be presented in the form of a gift card.

Additional Information
In order to qualify you must:
  • Provide current bank statement information. (redacted account numbers are permitted)
  • Have an incarcerated loved one and/or family member struggling with substance abuse.
  • Show a need for funds applied for (By providing a brief description of your situation)
  • Provide where/who to make funds available to.
  • Commit to doing 2 phone/virtual interviews with out funding staff.
  • Complete the application and provide all requested material.
